Survey activity suspended in areas of California - January 13, 2025 Update
ACHC has now suspended all scheduled accreditation and licensure surveys in areas of California impacted by the wildfires until further notice. When it becomes safe to resume survey activity, we will email and post the effective date.
The safety of staff and patients in organizations experiencing these emergency conditions is our first concern. We know that recovery will take time for some facilities and ACHC will allow flexibility regarding accreditation expiration dates for organizations in these areas, as needed.
If you believe that the impact of a fire warrants an extended delay in your accreditation survey, you must let us know. ACHC will be reporting this information, as appropriate, to CMS Central Office, CMS Region 9 Location, and the CDPH District Offices. To be considered for an extension, please email CAFireRelief@achc.org by January 31, 2025,* with an explanation of the issue for your organization. Please include:
- Legal business name/DBA
- Address
- Current accreditation expiration date
Submission of this information does not automatically grant an extension of accreditation, but it is needed to be eligible for this consideration. Your Account Advisor will reach out if additional information is needed or a change is made to your current expiration date.
*If fire conditions warrant allowing additional time for reporting, we will alert customers by email and social channels (LinkedIn and Facebook).
